Wine Review: This slightly opaque and medium purple colored red blend opens with a fragrant and attractive cassis and kirsch bouquet with hints of dark chocolate and nutmeg. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, lush and savory. The flavor profile is graphite and macerated black cherry blend with notes black olive, oak, and cassis. We also detected some hints of black tea, spices, and black licorice. (purple grape on day 2) The finish is dry, and its flavors and moderate tannins fade away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this red blend with duck confit, steak tips, or a charcuterie platter. Winemaker Notes: Marionberry, dark leather, smoked plums, blueberry/peach cobbler, acacia flower, lavender creme brûlée, red-eye gravy, violet, ripe olive, hoisin, currant paste, and melted licorice. Broad, weighty, and plush on the palate with a densely packed finish.
