Wine Review: This deep purple colored Syrah from McPrice Myers opens with a mild black currant and cigar box bouquet with hints of golden raisin, baking spice, and chocolate cookie. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a little juicy. The flavor profile is a black plum and mild gravely mineral blend with some notes of oak and acai berry. We also detected some hints of clove and black pepper mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild round tannins drift away nicely. This Syrah is food friendly and will be a crowd pleaser. We would pair it with a thin sliced char-grilled hanger steak or Kobe sliders. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Aromatics of plum preserves, licorice, leather, and brownie batter.
On the palate: Cuban coffee, violet, Montmorency cherries. Lush supple tannins and a long bright finish.
Enjoy with spaghetti bolognese.
