Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a brambly blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of moist pipe tobacco, cedar, and light florals. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium-plus acidity. We also found it to be nicely balanced, fruit forward and juicy. The flavor profile is a stewed plum and black raspberry blend with notes of fine minerality. We also detected hints of herbal tea and toasty oak. The finish is dry and it has subtle tannins. This Zin is very easy to drink and enjoy. We would pair it with slow roasted, pulled pork tacos made with Five Spice seasoning and served with Asian Slaw or with grilled lamb kabobs. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: Aromatics: raspberry fruit roll-up, cherry pie, açai, cranberry-blood orange relish, red licorice, star anise, cardamom and tamarind.
On the palate: Juicy, lush, generous, balancing fruit and warm savory spices.
Enjoy with: Savory, warm-spiced dry rubbed braised pork belly.
