Wine Review: This medium yellow colored Chardonnay from McIntyre opens with a lemon and pineapple bouquet with hints of toasted coconut, banana, and poached pear. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced and creamy. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe Anjou pear, chalky mineral and lemon verbena blend with hints of butter, green apple, gentle oak and along with a touch of grapefruit. The finish is dry and its flavors and well-managed acidity are nicely prolonged. This Chard is food friendly and would pair well with chicken Francese or sautéed tilapia with a tropical salsa. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Our 2018 SLH Chardonnay has it all - fruit, structure, richness, balance and length. It is the epitome of what the Santa Lucia Highlands can do with this noble variety in a great year. The nose is forward and ripe with suggestions of apple, pineapple and pear. The palate is powerful and generous with lemon and butter notes followed by firm acids and a long finish. Our 2018 SLH Chardonnay is a versatile and delicious wine that pairs well with just about any cuisine. SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice)
