Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from McIntyre opens with an attractive black raspberry bouquet with hints of boysenberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, soft and savory. The flavor profile is a gentle red plum and red raspberry blend with notes of gentle oak and cinnamon spice. I also detected hints of Maraschino cherry towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors fade away nicely. I would pair this Pinot with grilled pork chops with cherry sauce. Enjoy – Ken (SIP Certified)
Winemaker Notes: In 2016, favorable weather conditions allowed us to produce wines of extraordinary depth and concentration. Our SLH Pinot Noir is deep, dark and powerful with notes of cola, loganberries, plums and spice. The palate is full, lush and saturated with flavor. Long story short, this is textbook Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir.
