Wine Review: This zesty Riesling from the Mosel region of Germany is pale straw colored with an energetic nose of white peach, lime, wet slate, and Galia melon. Slightly off-dry on the palate, it is balanced, with a very smooth and supple mouthfeel. It is medium-minus bodied with lively medium-plus acidity. It has flavors of white peach, golden plum, lemon-lime, and flint with notes of pineapple and mango. The finish is fruit focused and nicely extended. This is a versatile Riesling that would be great served with Jamaican jerk chicken. - Mark
Winemaker Notes: This introductory wine displays the fine character of the Mosel-Ruwer region in the inimitable style of Maximin Grünhaus. It is a delightful off-dry Riesling that combines fresh fruit flavors with an optimal interplay of sweetness and acidity. It has a charming lightness that makes it hard to resist. Balanced and refreshing with fine, crisp acidity and aromas of fresh apples, mirabelle, and pear. Fruit for the Maximin Riesling is sourced from several vineyard parcels in the Ruwer and Mosel valleys that were recently acquired by the von Schubert family.
