Wine Review: This gold colored Riesling opens with an apricot and pineapple bouquet with a hint of orange marmalade. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, mildly sweet and has moderate acidity. The flavor profile is a sweet iced tea and lime blend with notes of stony minerality and apricot. There are also hints of clover honey and white pepper in the after taste. The finish is off-dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this very good Kabinett styled Riesling with chicken lo-mein and Thai rolls. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Herrenberg vineyard is based more on red slate, than its neighbor Abtsberg. This wine is produced in the delicate Kabinett style, and exhibits the distinctive stone fruit flavors and red slate minerality that are typical of this vineyard’s terroir.
