Wine Review: This very pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from the Dry Creek Valley opens with a fragrant gooseberry and yellow grapefruit bouquet with hints of lime and asparagus. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is bright, fresh, and zesty. The flavor profile is a yellow grapefruit and lime blend with notes of nectarine pit and coconut flakes. I also detected hints of ginger, saline, asparagus, and white pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show nice length. This Sauvignon Blanc would pair well with a baked haddock with lemon tarragon butter sauce with sides of roasted potatoes and asparagus.
Winemaker Notes: On the nose, enticing perfumed aromas include candied lime, white hyacinth blossom and wet stone, with a beautiful underlying pulse of gala melon flesh and white pineapple. The entry is lovely and very inviting. On the palate, cleansing Bergamot orange zest gives the wine focus, while a kiss of summer ripened Mirabelle plum carries the round and refreshing lift on the finish.
