Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from the Dry Creek Valley opens with a moist pipe tobacco and stony mineral bouquet with hints of raspberry in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, balanced and pretty juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty stone dust influenced black plum and blackberry blend with notes of loam, blueberry, and black coffee. I also detected hints of black cherry at the very end. The finish is rather dry and its big and bold dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. Because of the tannins, this Zin is not for the faint of heart. It does benefit a great deal from decanting. In the near term and after decanting, I would enjoy it with a cowboy cut beef ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2019 Dry Creek Zinfandel opens to an engaging bouquet of fresh blackberry, lilac blossom, powdered sugar and a pulse of dried herb. Black cherry, shavings of vanilla pod with ground coffee marry perfectly with the refined tannins and beautiful staying power of this wine! Enjoy for the next 7-10 years.
