Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Barbera d'Alba opens with a blackberry and black pepper bouquet with a hint of a black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a tangy and tart black cherry with notes of blackberry, graphite, and black pepper. There are hints of black plum and green tea in the background. The finish is dry, and its acidity and flavors are rather extended. This Barbera would pair well with a tangy pulled pork sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: deep purplish red.
Bouquet: elegant, sweet and tempting, the intense and fruity notes characteristic of Barbera emerge.
Flavor: vinous, fresh, and well balanced. An easy to drink wine which is tasty and rich without being excessively binding. Perfect with Langhe cuisine and very tasty dishes in general. Excellent with past, rice and soup, braised or grilled red meats and medium-mature cheeses.
