Wine Review: This dark red colored wine opens with a mild black cherry bouquet with a hint papaya. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a pleasant mild red cherry with hints of very mild old oak and a hint of gentle plum and dried cranberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a bit dusty. I would pair this wine with 70% cocoa dark chocolate, marshmallow, and graham crackers or 55% cocoa dark chocolate with roasted almond bark. Both provided by the Happy Chocolatier.com. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep bright red color with purple edges. Ripe, fresh fruit and raisined fruit equally prominent on the nose combined with sweet spices, especially vanilla and cinnamon. Ample and complex on the palate, but well rounded and very easy to drink at the same time. The aftertaste has ripe fruit, cherry and bilberry flavors on the finish with hints of vanilla. Good length on the finish. A very versatile wine. Perfect with many different kinds of food such as pasta with rich sauces (based on meat or mushrooms), grilled or roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses.
