Wine Review: This dark onyx and opaque Chateauneuf du Pape opens with a fragrant blackberry and strawberry licorice bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a pleasant blueberry and black currant blend with notes of oak. I also detected hints of black licorice and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are rather sticky and linger. I would serve this nice CDP with a New York strip steak in the near term. Enjoy - Ken
