Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot from Washington State opens with a pomegranate and red currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy going. The flavor profile is a dark chocolate and red raspberry blend with hints of red currant, black pepper and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a while. This Merlot would pair nicely with bistro fare. I would pair it with steak tips or a juicy bacon burger. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: An earthiness on the nose is balanced by fruity aromas of ripe red fruit. Baker's chocolate and cherry notes are highlighted on the palate and accented by grippy tannins and a lengthy finish.
