Wine Review: This opaque and midnight blue colored Tempranillo from Spain is a really good value. It opens with inviting black raspberry and anise bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, plush and juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry with notes of black licorice and blueberry. I also detected hints of oak and black pepper. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite a while. This wine would be perfect with a hearty beef stew. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Manually harvested from estate vineyards over 40 years of age in the Rioja Alta villages of Urunuela, Cenicero and San Asensio. Black fruit aromas of plums and blueberries are followed by a rich and velvety palate and a lingering, refreshing finish.
