Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark red colored Pinot Noir from Martinelli opens with a pomegranate and dried cherry bouquet with hints of oolong tea and red beet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus to full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very well-balanced, silky smooth, and graceful. The flavor profile is a tasty ripe blackberry and black licorice blend with notes mocha and blueberry. I also detected hints of black cherry, kitchen spice, and oolong tea. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate tannins are very nicely extended. I would pair this impressive Pinot with a pan-seared duck breast with a blackberry sauce. Enjoy - Ken
