Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Merlot from Markham opens with a mild black cherry and black plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused blueberry with hints of blackberry and vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger nicely. This Merlot is food friendly and would pair very nicely with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Color: Dark Ruby Aroma: Classic plum and cherry aromas show their floral side but are layered with of cinnamon, toffee and toasty barrel character. Taste: Harmonious plum flavors were accented with blackberry and cola from blending in both Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, which additionally added a bit of grip to the mid-palate.
