Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Maritana opens with a wild strawberry and maraschino cherry bouquet with a hint of cranberry, cherry pie, and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, balanced and a bit savory. The flavor profile is black cherry and red plum blend with notes of stony minerality. We also detected hints of Good n’ Plenty, black tea, and milk chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and mild tannins are nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with seared ahi-tuna. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our second vintage of "Jenkins Ranch" Pinot Noir and it seems to get better each time we work with these grapes. Hints of the “Pinot Perfume” we continue to pursue are already present and the bright berry notes laced with vanillin and spice make it an obvious choice for additional cellaring. We don’t think it’s necessary to wait – but drink now through 2039.
