Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine is a very nice value from Bordeaux. It opens with a fragrant black cherry bouquet with a hint of anise. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, savory and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a ripe plum with notes of integrated minerality, black raspberry and gentle oak. The finish is quite dry and its dusty tannins are quite sticky and last for quite a while. Pair this nice wine with a thick and juicy Angus burger smothered with sauteed mushrooms, onions and Swiss. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crimson colour with pronounced hints of black. The nose is powerful, complex and elegant. Beautiful aromas of dark fruit develop, while at the same time maintaining a hint of minerality. A refined, elegant woodiness adds complexity. On the palate, the attack is generous, full-bodied and rich. The wine evolves in the mouth with red and dark fruit and notes of smoke, creating a pleasant complexity. This is complemented by a beautiful tight, racy tannic structure, which develops with great density and elegance. With its superb balance and purity of flavours, this wine is typical of the quality and personality of Chateau Malartic Lagraviere in the years that have an exceptional potential to age.
