Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Tempranillo opens with a fragrant and attractive black cherry and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, smooth, rich and concentrated. The flavor profile is a smoky oak and black cherry blend with notes of plum and mild blackberry. The finish is rather dry and its noticeable mild oak tannins are quite sticky and linger for quite some time. This wine reminded me of a fine South African red blend. Readers who like that style will love this wine. It would pair well with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley Tempranillo explodes with aromas of cherry, applewood smoked bacon, peach, caramel, and chocolate covered espresso beans.
