Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Gamay from the Moulin-a-Vent commune opens with a red currant and craisin bouquet with a hint of mushrooms. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright and savory. The flavor profile is a red currant and loam blend with notes of craisin and clove. I also detected some hints of orange rind. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and last for a while. This cru level Beaujolais is a very good value and would pair well with cranberry stuffed turkey breasts. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A showy entrance of floral potpourri, maraschino cherry and wild blackberry. Shows off the typical muscularity of Moulin-a-Vent with grippy tannins, and a fuller body. The palate is harmonious with concentration and energy. Finishes long with touches of spice cake and touches of earth.
