Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley opens with a fragrant and attractive black raspberry and boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and fruit forward. Those fruits are a tasty black plum and black raspberry blend with very nicely integrated mild minerality. I also detected hints of dark roast coffee and oak towards the end. The finish is dry and its flavors stick around for quite a while after the wine in gone. This Pinot is very very good and will not last long. I would pair it with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense. Dense. Subtle. This is a wine of contradiction, much like its cantankerous namesake. An intense nose of blackberry, nutmeg, sandalwood, and espresso bean reveals a structured, but velvety and round wine with notes of dark chocolate, Damson plum, and sassafras. This is a wine that will unveil an abundance of aromas and flavors as it opens in the glass and as it ages in the bottle.
