Wine Review: This straw-colored Chardonnay from MacRostie opens with an Anjou pear and Meyer lemon bouquet with hints of banana, toasted coconut, and mild oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, fresh, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a toasted oak influenced pear and butter blend with notes of nectarine, honey, and vanilla. We also detected hints of toasted coconut and honeydew melon. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Chard with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli in a mild butter cream sauce or with crab cakes.
