Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from MacRostie opens with a very fragrant pomegranate, cranberry, and loam bouquet with hints of red licorice and mushrooms. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a black currant, loam, and cedar blend with notes of red licorice, black tea, and spicy black plum. I also detected hints of pomegranate and cinnamon. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. This Sonoma Coast Pinot would pair well a prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With a deep, concentrated color and enticing aromas of cocoa, dried rose petals and perfumed oak, this wine beautifully embodies its cool-climate roots. The palate is impeccably balanced with generous plum and ripe red berry flavors, as well as hints of baking spice. The supple tannins and bright acidity make this wine a wonderfully versatile wine for pairing with array of cuisines.
