Wine Review: This translucent and slightly dark red colored Pinot Noir from MacRostie opens with a red plum, loam, and teaberry bouquet with hints of red raspberry and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is red plum and cedar blend with notes of light loam and black pepper. We also detected hints of red cherry and cinnamon. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins subtly fade away. The Tasting Panel would first decant this Pinot in the near term as it benefits greatly from some aeration. Then we would suggest pairing this Pinot with cedar planked salmon or with a porchetta (Italian pork roast) Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: With its deep eggplant hue, the density of color in this wine is amazing. The aromas match the richness of the color with layers of coffee and dark chocolate that are lifted by hyper-ripe raspberry and black currant notes. The palate is unexpectedly soft and supple given the vibrant acid that dances on the tongue. Silky tannins allow you to savor the wine as it builds to a fascinating raspberry and cream finish, with notions of dried rose petal.
