Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark ruby colored Gamay opens with a blackberry and plum bouquet with a hint of pomegranate and potting soil. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a tart cherry and mild blackberry blend with notes of pomegranate and cranberry. I also detected hints of red licorice. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins linger nicely. This Gamay from Morgon will pair well with Chinese spareribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Morgon individual character originates from the rich volcanic soils on which it grows. Although firm and powerful, the tannins show the Gamay typical suppleness. This deep wine with violet aromas will perfectly match all sorts of dishes with great personality.
