Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Gamay from Morgon opens with a faint cocoa and light boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and round with no edges at all. The flavor profile is a very tasty red plum with hints of faint red cherry, red raspberry and tea. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins show very nice length. This very good Gamay is very food friendly. It would pair well with coq au vin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Very deep in color, this wine is a blend of three single vineyards (Bellevue, Cote du Py and Roche noire). It shows a brilliant and large aromatic bouquet (spices, ripen black fruit). On the palate, the tannins are still a bit firm, which indicates the potential for ageing. They are well-balanced by a great tension. This wines is a perfect partner for charcuterie or your favorite pizza with meat.
