Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Chile opens with a black raspberry and plump raisin bouquet with hints of pencil lead and molasses. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and dusty. The flavor profile is a tar and stewed black plum blend with notes of black tea, tobacco leaf, crushed stone, and licorice. We also detected hints of dates and green peppercorn. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins linger. The Tasting Panel would pair this Syrah with Peking duck or with Irish lamb stew. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Purple color with violet hues. Expressive nose of flowers, especially violets, packed with layers of red fruits, fresh plums, and figs, as well as black pepper and anise spices. Subtle oak aromas over a backdrop of graphite, tobacco, and cedar. Its delightful palate has a balanced acidity, fine-grain tannins, excellent volume, perfect body and a long finish.
