Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Longoria is a crowd pleaser. It opens with a black raspberry bouquet with hints of spice and cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is tart cranberry with notes of faint oak, black pepper, raspberry and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with grilled salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine has a dark ruby color with hints of youthful purple in the edges. The aroma is a beguiling mix of sour cherries, herbs and sage. On the palate the wine is rich and extracted with powerful flavors of wild berries, spices and sweet tobacco. This vintage has more weight and density than the 2011 but still exhibits the same great balance of alcohol, acidity and tannins. Enjoy with mushroom polenta, duck with peppercorn sauce or roast pork.
