Wine Review: This pale straw colored Chardonnay from Longoria is very nice and approachable. It opens with a smoky oak and Bosc pear bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild oak influenced pear with notes of minerality and hints of pineapple and tangerine. The finish is dry and its flavors linger nicely. This Chardonnay is food friendly and would pair well with chicken picatta for chicken francese. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine has a medium gold color with complex aromas of apple, pear, corn meal and brown spices. On the palate the wine is medium bodied with flavors of pears, brown spices and a hint of oak vanillin. The wine has a great balance of fruit and acidity. The finish is crisp and refreshing. Suggested pairings are pan fried crab cakes, grilled trout in a Meyer lemon butter sauce, warm goat cheese and pear salad and roasted poultry.
