Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Littorai opens with a blackberry, cherry, and loam bouquet with hints of balsamic and black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and a little savory. The flavor profile is a black tea and black raspberry blend with notes of oak and black cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this friendly Pinot with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our regional Anderson Valley Les Larmes is intended for consumption in the first few years after bottling. While it can, and often does, improve in the bottle, it is not intended for long term aging, and we encourage you to enjoy it while young. This is the more open and generous of the two regional wines in 2021. It has a lovely fruit presence revealing blackberry and plum along with rose petal and a gravelly, earthy quality. On the palate, a pleasantly bright and juicy acidity take the lead followed by tannins which show only on the end. In sum, a very complete and finely etched wine, the better dancer of the two for now.
