Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from Limerick Lane is excellent! It opens with a black currant and pencil shavings bouquet with hints of black plum, iris, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is a blackberry and stone dust blend with notes of stewed black plum and cola. We also detected hints of oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its well-managed polished tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this very food friendly Zin with a pan-seared filet mignon with gorgonzola butter or with assorted blue cheeses. Enjoy - KWGTP
