Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Limerick Lane opens with a strawberry and boysenberry bouquet with hints of lavender and violets. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and silky. The flavor profile is a mild strawberry and graphite blend with notes of gentle red plum, and boysenberry. We also detected hints of oak, red cherry, and black tea. The finish is dry, and its polished dusty firm tannins and flavors are sustained for a very long time. The Tasting Panel certainly could enjoy this Zin on its own. With food we would pair it with a grilled veal chop with mushroom risotto. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We are beyond excited to work with this iconic hillside vineyard situated at 1300’ feet on Moon Mountain in Sonoma. Monte Rosso® has a reputation as one of the world's oldest and best Zinfandel vineyards. The steep and rugged mountainside produces a wine of tremendous structure and power. We seek to harness this power and illustrate its traits through our Monte Rosso Zinfandel. This wine will age for a decade or more and requires a little extra aeration or decanting should you wish to enjoy it over the next year or two. Feel free to put some bottles down in the cellar and watch it unfold in the years to come.
