Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Zinfandel opens with a boysenberry and black plum bouquet with notes of oak, leather, and clove. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, bright, and smooth for a Zin. The flavor profile is a mild stony mineral and black raspberry blend with notes of spiced blackberry and oak. We also detected hints of oolong tea and a touch of black pepper. The finish is dry and it flavors and moderate fine tannins fade away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this food friendly Zin with lamb lollipops or Grandma's lasagna. Enjoy – KWGTP
