Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel opens with an earth, dried strawberry, and bacon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, mouthwatering, and juicy. The flavor profile is crushed stone minerality and raspberry tea blend with notes of red plum and red apple peel. We also detected hints of dried strawberry. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins are nicely prolonged. The Tasting Panel didn’t feel this was your tradition Zin. It felt more like a very good red blend and it also got better the longer it was open. So as a result, the Tasting Panel would decant this wine and then pair it with beef carpaccio or with pepper crusted ahi tuna. Enjoy – KWGTP
