Wine Review: This dark purple colored kitchen sink red blend crafted by Andy Erickson opens with a stewed black plum and spice bouquet with a hint of Moxie soda. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and graceful. The flavor profile is a spiced black plum and stony minerality blend with notes of black licorice and tea. We also detected some hints of figs in the mix. The finish is dry and its moderate sticky tannins build-up and last for a very long time. We would pair this very good red blend with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken & Dave
Winemaker Notes: The 2020 proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Syrah, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Franc highlight some of my favorite growing regions in Northern California, including Red Hills, Coombsville, and Moon Mountain. The 2020 Leviathan displays powerful aromas of plum, black cherry, cola, and cocoa. Savory spices, white pepper, marjoram, and cardamom derived from the Northern California mountainside forests expand across the palate, while boasting bright and persistent acidity with intense, fine-grained tannins. It is approachable now and built to cellar for over 7 years.
