Wine Review: This light straw-colored Chardonnay from Australia opens with a lemon-lime bouquet with hints of light oak and toasted coconut. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright and fresh for a Chard. The flavor profile is a mild oak influenced lemon-lime and ripe honeydew melon blend with notes of coconut flakes and yellow peach. I also detected some hints of spice and chalky minerality. This finish is dry and its flavors and gentle acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Chard with pasta carbonara. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: An aromatic and perfumed nose, where Nashi pear, white nectarine, lemon zest and grapefruit provide the foundation of the fruit spectrum with graphite and brioche subtleties to provide delicate complexity. The palate is energetic, with concentrated fruits of cut lime, pear, custard-apple. A delicately textured and layered mid-palate is defined by natural laced acidity, creating the corridor. Savory notes and spice work in symmetry, carrying a long finish with gentle talc-like tension.
