Wine Review: This almost clear colored Sauvignon Blanc based wine from Leeuwin is very good! It opens with a fragrant gooseberry bouquet with a hint of nectarine pit. The flavor profile is similar to the nose. It features gooseberry, yellow grapefruit, lime and stone fruit pits. I also detected hints of white pepper, saline and chalk minerality. The finish is dry and its flavors and integrated acidity show nice length. This Sauvignon Blanc would pair very nicely with swordfish skewers. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A fragrant and perfumed nose with white peach blossom and jasmine, elevate the primary fruits of kiwi, lychee and lime. Beneath subtle notes of Thai basil, cardamom and chamomile offer delicate complexity. The palate is subtly textured and nicely balanced with woven layers of finger lime, passion fruit, lemon and nectarine. There is a degree of brightness that runs through the mid palate with sherbet-like acidity leading to a fi ne and slightly chalky finish.
