Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored wine opens with an inviting blueberry and black raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth and bursting with ripe fruit flavors. Those fruit flavors are a melody of boysenberry, black currant and blueberry with a touch of plum and gentle old oak in the background. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins linger right along with the fading fruit. I felt like this was a lot of wine for the money and it will certainly impress your friends. Serve it with sausage and shrimp jambalaya over brown rice. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Contains an expressive and perfumed nose, with abundant aromas of red fruit, sweet spice, black licorice and roasted coffee. Fresh and well-balanced on the palate, this wine has a smooth entry and round, gentle tannins that invite one to keep drinking. A fine, modern red wine from the Spanish Duero Valley, Mas de Leda is meant to be enjoyed with a wide variety of foods.
