Wine Review: This translucent and bright red colored Gamay from the Julienas commune opens with a faint red cherry bouquet with hint of strawberry and watermelon. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and nicely coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a gentle red plum with hints of crushed stone dust, cinnamon, boysenberry, and a touch of loam. The finish is dry and its fine tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This Gamay is easy to drink and will not last long. Serve it at your holiday parties and be prepared for lots of empty bottles. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Fleurie is probably the most feminine of the Beaujolais. A vibrant red in colour, with a rich, velvety texture and an elegant mix of fruit and floral aromas such as iris, violet, summer roses, peach, blackcurrants and red fruits. Fleurie is the most feminine of the Crus. Serve with lamb, poultry and white meats.
