Wine Review: This pale ruby colored unoaked Cabernet Franc from the Finger Lakes opens with a fragrant red raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry, red currant and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a red currant and strawberry jam blend with notes of red bell pepper. We also detected hints of stony minerality, black pepper and some dried herbs. The finish is pleasant, dry and its subtle tannins and flavors fade away nicely. This very good Cab Franc would pair well with a grilled mahi-mahi sandwich or with lamb stew. Enjoy – Ken & Joe
