Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay opens with mild and appealing vanilla oak bouquet with a hint of Bartlett pear. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty butterscotch and light lemon blend with nicely integrated vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its pleasant flavors last for quite some time. I would pair this tasting Chard with chicken piccata. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: 2010 showcases the concentrated fruit character and vibrant flavors that are hallmarks of the of the Chardonnay blocks from our Lafond Vineyard and our neighbor Hill Top Ranch. This bottling has ample acidity to complement its weight on the palate, making it a beautiful match for food. It is a good choice to pair with many cows' milk cheeses such as Brie or Camembert. Richer foods such as roast chicken or whole farm raised striped bass are also very pleasant pairings.
