Wine Review: This bright ruby colored Pinot opens with an inviting blueberry and gentle plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a tasty mild spicy plum with notes of black pepper and a hint of black currant black cherry in the background. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins linger for a while. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine, our first release from the Donum site, is 100% Donum clone. This wine is one of the most intriguing we have produced, combining dark and black fruits, subtle oak, dried sage, and garrigue. On entry, this wine shows abundant acidity and a mid-palate viscosity and weight that portends age worthiness. Though, a “big” wine, the 2009 Pinot Noir – Donum Estate Vineyard, shows wonderful acidity that mitigates the youthful breadth of the wine and carries the flavors on a long and pleasing finish.
