Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet Sauvignon from La Jota was our second-place finisher in our Big Blind High End red wine tasting. It opens with a very attractive blueberry and black currant bouquet with hints of vanilla and cherry. You could smell this wine for hours. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very well-balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant and oak blend with notes of black cherry and vanilla. We also detected hints of black tea and red licorice as well. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and lasts for a very long time. The Panel suggested pairing this gem with beef wellington. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: On the palate, the 2016 La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon has blackberry, rosemary, subtly Asian spice, and a hint of Petit Verdot finishing with a great mid palate weight and earthy tannic structure, there is no doubt you are drinking a Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
