Wine Review: This midnight sky colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a Lindt Extra Dark Chocolate and black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry with notes of gentle oak and mild blueberry. There is a touch of minerality and black currant mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its dusty moderate tannins last for a little while. This is one of the better 2011 California Cab's that I have covered. I would serve it with a ribeye steak over the next year or soon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Savory aromas of anise, blackberry and a touch of sage are followed by a lush palate of blueberry, mocha toast and that signature Howell Mountain minerality.
