Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Cabernet from Howell Mountain opens black plum and gentle cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very approachable. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry with hints of oak, red currant, red licorice and blueberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are slightly prolonged. This Cab is ready to go and would pair well with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: La Jota's cooler temperatures, wetter climate, iron-volcanic soils, and forests filled with conifers make Howell Mountain one of Napa's most Bordeaux like appellations and a place where Cabernet based wines shine. This Cabernet showcases anise and blackberry fruit with notes of pine and toast, combined with great textural length and a lingering finish.
