Wine Review: This cloudy pale orange colored La Crescent grape wine from Vermont opens with an orange and pineapple bouquet with hints of pine sap, papaya and hay. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round and lively. The flavor profile is very tart lemon and kumquat blend with notes of green tea. We also detected hints of all spice, nutmeg, and lime zest at the very end. The finish is off-dry, and its flavors and acidity linger for a while. While not for everybody, the Tasting Panel would suggest serving this La Crescent chilled and on the rocks on a hot summer day with a veggie and hummus platter. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We love this wine with: Fresh oysters, Anything Middle Eastern, Indian food, duck legs roasted with dried apricots, or Ligurian rabbit fricasee with olives and rosemary.
