Wine Review: This deep garnet colored Merlot from Walla Walla opens with a very shy red currant and oak bouquet with hints of cocoa and rose. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a black cherry, graphite and toasted oak blend with notes of Oreo cookie. We also detected hints of red plum, red currant and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its moderate grippy tannins stick around for quite some time. The Panel would pair this Merlot with a grilled butterflied leg of lamb or a New York strip steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This serious and structured Merlot reveals intriguing aromatics of dark fruit, tobacco leaf, cedar, violet, and rose. Its rich texture is elevated by flavors of black cherry, peppercorn, grounded by Ferguson's graphite minerality carrying into a flavorful persistent finish.
