Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from New Zealand opens with a fragrant ripe pear bouquet with a hint of hazelnut and lemon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and round. The flavor profile is a mild mineral infused pear and pineapple with hints of hazelnut, melon and ginger. The finish is dry and its flavors linger for quite a while. This tropical styled Chard would pair well with chicken and penne with alfredo sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This year's Village Chardonnay features attractive lifted fruit aromas with a touch of nuttiness: the hint of hazelnut that is so typical of Chardonnay. The palate also shows a nice peachy ripeness with a crisp flinty character that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality. This wine is perfect to drink with fish and shellfish.
