Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Krupp Brothers was our clear winner in our first blind tasting of high end red wines. Their 2014 "M5" received a score of 95 points from the Panel. It opens with a cassis and blackberry bouquet with hints of truffle and white chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, smooth, exquisitely balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant and black cherry blend with notes of lovely integrated oak. We also detected some hints of chocolate and a touch of blueberry. The finish is dry and its moderate refined tannins stick around and drift away nicely. The Panel suggested sipping this impressive wine solo or pairing it with a ribeye or veal osso buco in the next few years. Enjoy - KWGTP
