Wine Review: This blackish purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Krupp Brothers is very impressive and finished tied for third in our Big Blind tasting. It opens with a cassis bouquet with hints of blackberry and vanilla oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and savory. The flavor profile is a delicious mineral infused black currant with nicely integrated oak. We also detected hints of black olive and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins show good length and linger. The Panel thought this terrific Cab would pair nicely with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Lush aromatics of black cherry, strawberry and dark plum with hints of anise and dark chocolate. Layers of dark fruit, volcanic earthiness and minerality unfold on the palate. Elegant structure and generous ripe tannins reveal the age-worthiness of this powerful mountain Cabernet from a sublime vintage. Drink now through 2040.
